Boycott comfort's green cabs

claudetnt SG

Commuters please boycott the use of Comfort-DelGros green taxis and send a strong signal to our taxi operators that the higher increase in fares are not justified at all.

aww... come on.. its only that 20 cents......
u wanna pay 20 cents for Q until a normal cab comes?

iveco SG

I don’t see any logic in this. Did bus commuters pay extra to travel on the green buses?

Chelzea SG

i concur Very Happy

You want to blame, blame the NEA fellows

A mistake they made and dun want to admit

reyes SG

i concur.
Anyway, comfort will reply the increase is to justify the higher cost of cars.

quite frankly i dont know why comfort wish to save the environ. instead of saving our lives.
most of the cabs in singapore dont even have airbags which has already become almost a standard item in all private cars. maybe QQ also have.

is this call the social /corporate responsibility of an union? GLC? or transversitites company?

I'm not so sure abt this

The rear for cars dun think even have airbag either...

And airbags do kill

Singaporeans are not interested in environmental issues...they will not give up their cheap flights or pay more for environmentally friendly products.

The way to do it is for the government to impose a punitive tax on all non-environmentally friendly vehicles...say 300% hike....Everyone is affected including private vehicles and it will be the taxis that do not meet the environmental standard that will have to charge more.

sbst275 SG

No

It's the timing

In fact with the shortage of range, more are likely to extend the current COE esp if it carries on with $1... I believe with another 2 more rounds staying at $1, 10 yr renewal rate is $1

If it's done in Q3 07, this would not have happened

Ironically Comfort-DelGros issued a statement that the green taxis are about the same or slightly higher than the Toyota crown whatever that means!

lotus999 SG

isn't it illogical? Comfort-Delgro wants to go green but is punishing passengers (with higher fare) for going green. it is amazing!

sbst275 SG

Unless they go purchase petrol powered cars... They can save on the 400% premium road tax and these NEA's emmission std...

phber SG

this cannot be encourage, how we not they not using that as an excuse to raise fare?

since they cannot raise fare officially, next time they say get better engine = raise fare, get better sound system = raise fare, get better headlight = raise fare, how? if all the cab company follows, then no different from raise fare mah....

Phber:

--- an excuse to raise fare?---

Yes indeed, its another excuse to raise fares. Lets show Comfort-DelGros that we are no suckers!
